Material description

Mechanical unit and back braces: powder-coated aluminium in deep black (RAL 9005) or soft grey (RAL 7047). With synchronised movement, individual adjustment of backrest resistance and locking device in upright position. Seat height continuously adjustable via gas spring.
Frame, seat and back: flexible frame and armrests in polyamide (deep black or soft grey). One-piece sling panel for the seat and back in TrioKnit knitted fabric or FleeceNet woven fabric.
Base: five-star base in die-cast aluminium, with a polished finish or powder-coated in deep black or soft grey.

Ten years ago Vitra developed the Physix chair in collaboration with Alberto Meda, which was subsequently supplemented by additional models. The construction of Physix is based on the basic idea of a single textile panel stretched between two side members, which would offer the greatest possible freedom of movement. To achieve this objective, Alberto Meda created three elements that combined ensure an exceptionally dynamic sitting experience: a highly flexible frame construction, an elastic cover and a stabilising mechanism.

Now Vitra has updated the colours for the seat cover fabrics: fresh hues provide a balanced palette, making it even easier to find a suitable chair for virtually any environment.
